Recently, the world encountered many kinds of natural disaster which bring major destruction and taken so many innocent lives. On 26th December 2004, a giant wave or also known as tsunami has swapped Acheh and caused approximately 150, 000 deaths!   Tsunamis are large, continuous ocean waves that originate in the vastness of the sea.  Triggered by volcanic eruptions, landslides, earthquakes, and even impacts by asteroids or comets, a tsunami represents a vast volume of seawater in motion — the source of its destructive power.

They can travel for thousands of miles across the sea and still pack enough energy to smash towns and drown the people! After tsunami, we encountered another disaster which is earthquake. The world’s deadliest recorded earthquake occurred in 1556 in central China.

These dwellings collapsed during the earthquake, killing an estimated 830,000 people! In 1976 another deadly earthquake struck in Tangshan, China, where more than 250,000 people were killed.

An earthquake happens because of violent shaking of the Earth’s crust that may cause destruction to buildings and results from the sudden release of tectonic stress along a fault line or from volcanic activity.

Until this article was written, the whole world is facing another natural disaster which is the global warming problem.

It happens when the temperature of the world keeps on increasing, and this would continue to the future. It caused the level of the water in the sea increase, the ice melt down and making this earth a hot place to stay.   Scientists believed this phenomenon happens because of human activity which involves in releasing too much carbon dioxide and methane to the Earth’s atmosphere.

Although these three natural disasters have different approach in damaging the property and taken away the lives of innocent people, but they happen because of the God’s Will.

Everything that happen in our live, either good or bad has its own significant meaning which only Allah knows why it happens.  In Islam, the Muslims are prohibited to blame the fate even it causes such a great loss.

In fact, Islam asks its followers to think why they would be given a tragedy which would leave a big scar in their memory.

There are two reasons why the God has sent a natural disaster to the human; either to remind the people that they have gone away from the right path or He wants to test the faith of His servants.

When a person losses too much due to natural disaster, he should not be mourning and blame the God. Instead, he should begin a new life and have strong faith in God because He knows best for each and every human on Earth!
